Costa Rica
Although these paintings were of plants I currently have in my home, it was incredible to see them all in their natural environment, growing in the lush rainforests of Costa Rica, when I was there in April 2023 and again in April 2025. Acrylic paint was used to encapsulate the vibrant, tropical foliage.
Tofino
Inspiration for these paintings came from Englishman River Falls Park on Vancouver Island. A magical place with beautiful waterfalls and stunning rock sculptures.
I tried to capture the ethereal feeling by using layer upon layer of watercolors.
Whelan Bay
Every year we make a trip to northern Saskatchewan to our cabin in Whelan Bay. On the way there, a field of sunflowers inspired me to create these paintings, using watercolor to capture the delicate petals and texture of rusty watering cans.
